Human Trafficking Lisa D. Haba & Greg Gutzler
Human trafficking is modern-day slavery and involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain some type of labor or commercial sex act. Victims of this heinous crime often do not self-identify or self-report and come in contact with lawyers, police, and the general public frequently. This course will help practitioners identify human trafficking victims and the warning signs, practice trauma-informed lawyering, and understand what can be done to help a victim of human trafficking. This course will cover both the criminal and civil side of human trafficking, and what options a victim has under the law.
